Funniest moments in history
Now this is probably quite incriminating but I’m going tell you about it anyway.
Yesterday I was flicking through some old pictures that I found in a shoe box from my days in Leicester. Now most people would spend a bit of time looking at them and thinking aahhhhh…happy days!
I spent literally hours with tears rolling down my face. They were absolutely hilarious. I’d actually forgotten how much ridiculous stuff we did.
I’m still working on getting the pics on here so that I can share them with the world as they are somewhat pre common usage of camera phones and digitals.
But I just couldn’t resist telling you about the two pieces of gold I found.

The background to this needs a little telling so here goes…walking home from the pub one night me and the usual suspects pass a silver corsa with the number plate MR 5AFETY. Funny enough you may say, however, this driving instructor had some of those nice magnetic L plates on the front and back of his car. Being students and a touch intoxicated we naturally swiped ‘em. Ok, so I hear what you’re saying petty larceny is not that funny and we’ve all done it…well the story doesn’t finish there.
The next night, the same group and I are walking back from the same pub and see that MR 5AFETY has put more L plates on his car. So we swipe em again.
Needless to say, the next night (yes I spent a lot of time in the pub) there were more L plates. Now at this point we decided that we were no longer just nicking L plates for fun. We actually felt that it was our duty to teach this guy the error of his ways. If you put L Plates on your car twice and each time you do they get nicked, you don’t keep putting the sodding things on do you? I mean seriously?
By the next week we had 18 L Plates stuck to our fridge and this guy presumably had learned his lesson as he didn’t put anymore on. MR 5AFETY presumably never expected to see those plates again….think again. Lesson learned we decided to return to the scene of our theft and replace every single one of the L plates, covering the safety mobile. See we’re not thieves after all.
Anyway the pic is of one of the gang wetting himself laughing next to the vehicle in question covered in L Plates….brilliant.

This one is the product of a very bored couple of minds and a camera. After one particularly dull night at the bingo myself and Craigy Boy decide to head out, go bowling and catch some beers. Sadly, the bowling alley is shut and beer is nowhere to be seen. We’re hungry and the only place open is 24hr ASDA. So we grab some munchies and sit in the car park stuffing our faces. It is at this point that the plan formulate. We decide that it would be very funny to go into 24hr ASDA and pretend that we are students form the University doing a piece for the newspaper on why people go shopping late at night.
Ten minutes later and we are in the shop, camera in hand talking to the shop assistants, customers, managers the lot. It’s hilarious, it’s all we can do to stop laughing as we ask Douggy (a particularly gormless looking shelf stacker) if he ever tries to pick up women in store and whether he’s ever stolen yoghurt.
Several choice pics came from this one. One of a guy grinning away putting some staged shopping into his boot. One of Douggy and the incredibly staged photo of three trolley ladies outside astride trolleys and in height order….it’s amazing what people will do when they think that you are going to put their picture in the paper.
This evening was later reconstructed in Leicester town centre with a load of clubbers. Genius!!!!
